Hey! It’s Andrea and this week I wanted to do something about hair, so I chose to write about my current hair situation. I hope you enjoy this post and make sure to subscribe if you want to see more from me. Also, feel free to comment if you have any suggestions about what I should write next week! Thanks!
What is Co-Washing?
f you don’t know what co-washing is, it’s when you only wash your hair with conditioner. I’ve also heard that co-washing is usually the best for dry and/or natural hair. I read that some people use a shampoo/conditioner product to help their hair get cleansed, but since I’m a broke teen, I used the conditioner I’ve been using beforehand. For those of you that want to know, I have course and dry hair.
How My Hair Used to be Before Co-Washing
Sadly, I don’t have any photos of my hair before I did this 😦 but, what I can say that for the two months that I’ve been experimenting with co-washing my hair has not benefited that much from co-washing, nor has my hair gotten worse from co-washing. Before this experiment, my hair used to get very, very oily after not washing it for about three days but, I would only shower twice a week max because, my skin would get relatively dry even with lotion. My hair has also been unruly before this experiment, it never really was able to lay flat unless I used the strongest hair gel I could find.
How My Hair is Now
My hair feels very similar to what it felt like before hand except, now my hair doesn’t smell like strawberries from my shampoo. My hair feels a bit less dry since the shampoo isn’t washing out all of the oils in my hair. I would also say that it’s a bit easier to style and there are a bit less fly-aways in my hair. If you have hair like mine (dry, coarse, and a bit frizzy) I would recommend for you to try it out if you’d like. I also believe that people with natural hair can also try this out and have some favorable results.
The Products I’ve Used
Orlando Pita Argan Oil shampoo/conditioner combo. I got mine at Costco and used the conditioner during the process. It helped my hair become a little less dry but I felt like it didn’t really clean my hair well.
VO5 Strawberries and Cream Shampoo.
I honestly bought this because it smelled good but, it did help the cleansing issue I had with my hair before co-washing. I also have been using this in conjunction with the products mentioned above.
Thanks for reading, hopefully you’ve enjoyed this week’s post and if you want to hear more from me make sure to subscribe!
Hey-o! My name is Andrea and if you’ve been following along with my blog so far you may have seen my last post (Postponing a post (or two). ) and now I’m back! I wanted to ease back into my blog so I just decided to take a few *nice* photos of the items I am currently enjoying in my lifestyle. I hope you enjoy this post!
- Scrunchies: If you haven’t already seen the craze about these hair ties then you probably don’t understand why these are a favorite. Scrunchies are my favorite type of hair tie because they don’t leave any grooves in my hair from wearing them for too long. My mom’s hair dresser said it was also better for your hair than regular ties so, I guess I’ve been converted. (I didn’t personally purchase these hair ties myself, my mother did and now I’ve stolen about half of them. These 2 colors are my personal favorites from the ones I’ve already stolen.)
- An heirloom: This gold necklace has been passed down in my family for two or three generations. I’m currently infatuated by the way it looks with all of my outfits and how it seems to elevate all of my plain outfits.
- White Levis: Everyone seems to have their favorite pair of beaten up white shoes, whether they’re Air Force 1’s, Converse, or Vans, but mine are these Levi’s because I’ve had these shoes for about 2 years and they’ve held up incredibly well for wearing them about 3-4 times every week. I also didn’t feel the need to buy another pair of white shoes since if you’ve ever had a pair of beaters (just another term for shoes you don’t mind to get dirty/actually use) they seem to look better, in my opinion, when they’re just a little bit dirty and used.
4. My Flip phone: Today we live in a world where many of us are consumed in social media, so I made the decision to give up all of my social media (except for Instagram) and the add on’s of a smartphone. If anyone wants to know, my flip phone is a AT&T Cingular Flip 2 (yes it’s spelled that way). I’ll be writing about this topic soon after I publish my next post.
Anyways I hoped you’ve enjoyed this post and I also hope to see you in the next post! Subscribe if you would like to see more from me and until the next one!
Hey! It’s Andrea. For many right now it’s about time for finals, which means hours of studying and preparing for the test that can make or break your grade. Due to this I will be postponing the next post (2 posts max) so I can focus on my studies right now and prepare for finals. I promise that I will be back and posting the best content I can create but, I will be doing so after finals. Thank you for reading and hopefully I can catch you in the next post!
